Plenty of new talent showcasing at The Snug Bar in 2015

Tonight, Thursday January 15 sees 16 Hours of Flight making their debut appearance in The Snug. They are a modern/classic rock band set up in 2014 with Lorraine Perry on vocals, Stanley Oliver on guitar, Carol Griffin on bass, and Daniel Lima on drums.

Buckeye play Friday night, January 16. They’re a lively vibrant four piece band of Athlone-based musicians who play a wide variety of music, including rock, blues, bluegrass, folk, reggae, traditional, funk, and pop. The signature sound of the band comes from the banjo playing of John Shanagher (who also plays guitar ) and the vocal harmonies from all members of the band. The other members are Daniel Dempsey (bass, guitar, and vocals ), Mark Ryan (guitar, bass, and vocals ), and Paul Shanagher (drums and harmonica ).

ReJig also make their debut performance at The Snug on Saturday night January 17 - however the band members will be familiar to most: Kieran Murphy - guitar and vocals; Jerome Sheerin - accordion and vocals; Cormac Sheerin - bass guitar, and vocals; and Eamonn O’Toole - drums and vocals.

ReJig is an energetic contemporary trad fusion band with a sound ranging from traditional Irish jigs and reels played with a twist to current chart toppers.

DJ Jamie will also be playing in the beer garden. Jamie is an expert in getting everyone to enjoy themselves with classic soul, hip hop, indie favourites, and chart and club bangers all mixed to perfection.

Finally wind down on Sunday night, January 18 with solo artist Gavin G who graces the stage at 7pm. Gavin is always applauded by the crowd for his high level performances. Gavin is followed by the Dave L Show, playing a range of music spanning over several decades and always getting the crowd joining in.
