Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me

Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me is a heartrendingly compassionate, tenderly tragic, but also sharply funny play, performed by Group X - comprising the first ever graduates from the MA in Directing for Theatre at UCD.

An Irishman, an Englishman, and an American are being held captive indefinitely in a single cell. With their instinct driving them, they utilise all that they have in the hope of surviving their situation - their differences, intellect, imagination, sense of humour, and ultimately their common humanity. Frank McGuinness’ characters are realistically imperfect but imbued with so much compassion that it is impossible not to be enthralled by them.

"The audience are so invested in the drama that they readily gasp, laugh, and cry," according to Irish Theatre Magazine.

Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me runs at Mullingar Arts Centre from Thursday to Saturday January 29-31 at 8pm. Tickets are €17 and are available from the Mullingar Arts Centre box office at (044 ) 9347777.
