Westmeath Rose Katie Murphy wins Kilbeggan style stakes

With her elegant 50s-inspired ensemble, Westmeath Rose Katie Murphy from Mullingar turned heads at last Saturday’s Kilbeggan Races, picking up the Best Dressed title.

TV presenter Síle Seoige was searching for Kilbeggan’s most fabulous fashionista at the Littlewoods Ireland Best Dressed Ladies Series at Kilbeggan Racecourse last Saturday, and she was not disappointed!

The winner on the day was Westmeath’s Katie Murphy, 24, a stylish lady who works for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and is this year’s Westmeath Rose at The Rose of Tralee 2014.

Katie was awarded a €1,500 Littlewoods Ireland voucher for her fabulous 50s-inspired ensemble. Her unusual choice of nude coloured skirt, from Monsoon, was perfectly complemented by her white top, from Topshop, and white jacket, from Almost Famous Boutique in Mullingar. Her outfit was topped off with a striking mint green hat from Mullingar-based milliner, Derek Montgomery. The winning stylish look was completed with white shoes by Carvela, necklace by Newbridge Silverware, and clutch-bag from Jasmine Boutique in Mullingar.

Speaking after the event, Síle said: “I chose Katie as my winner as I really liked her vintage look on the day. She looked so elegant and I really liked how she mixed high-street fashion with her fabulous mint-coloured headpiece.”

The nine finalists were Sarah Murphy, Rachel Coyle, Lisa McGowan, Carol Leavy, Lorraine Green, Angela Duggan, Fiona Guilfoyle, Catriona Nic Carthaigh, and Kayleigh Fisher.
