The Cloak set to spread over Mullingar this May

The Cloak - a newly commissioned stage-show written and directed by Irish artistic director Pádraig J Dunne showcases the remarkable life of St Brigid of Kildare, which can only be described as spell binding.

Pádraig JDunne, who is known for his unique visionary techniques, will include a stunning audio visual presentation as part of the production shot in beautiful locations around Ireland including Glendalough, the Curragh, and Brittas Bay.

The Cloak describes the inspiring life journey of two incredibly courageous women, St Brigid and her mother Broicsech, both of whom faced adversityand torment in the struggle to lead a Christian life in pagan Ireland. Oppressed by a cruel man in cruel times, yet having the courage to struggle on, kidnapped, seduced, and degraded, they fled the cold Atlantic shores walking over the rugged mountains eventually finding sanctuary in the rural flatlands.

This emotive story is told though the medium of dramatic, yet sensual dance; music that will enrich your soul; and film which captures some of Ireland’s most rugged landscapes, revealing the life of a true Irish icon - St Brigid, a legend, a hero, a saviour.

The Cloak has a strong storyline and uses vibrant and sensual dance, emotive music and singing, including dramatic acting to bring this story to the stage.
