Leinster Fleadh Cheoil fundraising concert in Moate

A host of top-class traditional Irish musicians, singers, dancers, and storytellers will perform at a fundraising concert for the 2014 Leinster Fleadh Cheoil on Thursday February 13 in the Tuar Ard Theatre, Moate starting at 8pm.

The well-known Roscommon flute/fiddle duet of John Wynne and John McEvoy will start off proceedings with some lively music from the west. Dave Sheridan (fiddle ), a native of Tubber, Co Offaly will travel from Co Carlow where he lives to perform alongside his wife Michelle Powderly (fiddle ) and his storytelling father Andy Sheridan.

Colm Keane and friends will also entertain the audience with their own unique, energetic style of music and song.

And it is has been confirmed that a five-piece of Midlands musicians will perform on the night consisting of Noel Battle (mouth organ ), Mick Foster (piano accordion ), Siobhán Ní Chonnaráin (flute ), Myra Fraser (piano ), and Martin Murphy (drums ).

Many more local artists are due to perform on the night.

Tickets priced at €10 are available from the fleadh organising commitee, Westmeath Comhaltas branches, and the ticket office at the Tuar Ard Theatre on (090 ) 6482042.

The Leinster Fleadh Cheoil in Moate hosted by Westmeath Comhaltas takes place from July 7-13.
