Man charged with €20k cannabis possession

A man charged with the possession of €20,000 worth of cannabis resin was remanded on continuing bail until October 16 for presentation of a book of evidence.

Inspector Nicholas Farrell told the court how the car in which Conor Duignan (24 ) of Thomastown, Ballydangan, Co Roscommon was stopped by gardaí at Benown, Glasson on August 22, and at this stage the gardaí made their alleged discovery.

He went on to say how Duignan had been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled substance.

Duignan’s solicitor, Mr Owen Carty asked for bail for his client, which Inspector Farrell said he would not oppose as long as Duignan surrendered his passport.
