Two local teenagers, believed by Gardai to be responsible for between 20 and 30 burglaries around Athlone, were both remanded in custody in the District Court last Tuesday (December 2 ) and will re-appear in a fortnight.
James Fallon (19 ), Castlesampson, Taughmaconnell and Kevin Hourigan (19 ) from Columbus Terrace, Athlone were having their first scheduled court appearance after being remanded in custody at a special sitting of the court on the previous Saturday (November 29 ).
Fallon had sought bail but, like his co-accused, consented to the maximum 14 days additional custody when the State objected to his application. Both will re-appear on December 16.
