This Hallowe’en weekend The Prince Bar is bringing a late and live experience to Athlone with the first annual Rocktoberfest, a long weekend of great local and national bands kicking off on Thursday October 25 with up-and-coming band Solar Taxi. Live music starts at 10pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
Solar Taxi is the vehicle for the phenomenal vocal talents of Aisling Browne. They provide upbeat disco-era Blondie style tunes with the formidable Browne at the centre with the astounding vocal power of a young Aretha Franklin. The band is currently on a tour of Ireland with their first album Broken Brothers Secret Bells. Also playing Rocktoberfest are Who Knows, Crooked Jacks, and Odditty.
If you love live music The Prince Bar is a must this Hallowe’en weekend. Prince Bar manager Yvonne says, “Nothing makes a great night out like a good live band. Over the coming months we are looking at bringing the best of live music bands to Athlone while supporting and encouraging local bands and entertainers with our Acoustic Audio nights which will take place in the Prince Bar every Wednesday starting next week.”
