Three more acts announced for Body&Soul Festival

The Body&Soul production wheels are now in full motion, with a long list of surprises in store for this year’s festival over the summer solstice.

The festival will be spread over three nights, June 22-24, to celebrate their third year, in the beautifully unique location of Ballinlough Castle.

For the first time this year, Friday night will see the woodlands open its doors to festival goers with a tightly packed programme of music, performance and general Body&Soul shenanigans ahead of the festival opening the following morning.

In tune with this, three more acts have been added to the June line-up: Spiritualized, Django Django, and Hollie Cook will join an impressive line-up that already includes Conor O’Brien’s Villagers, maverick French electro artist M83; off-beat singer St Vincent aka Anne Erin Clark; Swedish pop act Little Dragon; and the introspective beats and experimental textures of Gold Panda and Emika.

Body & Soul also has a strong and diverse dance music line-up, with Spanish deep house producer John Talabot, the high octane funk and African folk of Shangaan Electro; electronic p-funker Redinho from Glasgow’s Nmbrs label and the Herbaliser’s wild blend of breaks and beats.

Closer to home, Tieraniessaur will raise the roof with their catchy punk-funk and Dublin producer Kormac will be in charge of his Big Band, an 11-piece orchestra that will turn his productions into festival-friendly songs.

The festival location lends itself to other-worldliness and you are invited to lose yourselves in the labyrinth of walled gardens, winding pathways, and woodlands. Slip in to a carneval costume and join the masked guests at Saturday’s Shapeshifters Masquerade Ball.

Aside from the music line-up, revellers can expect a storybook of performances, art installations, pathways to hidden café corners, pop-up stages, over 30 therapists, green crafts, a secluded Soul Kids garden, lakeside chill out pockets, cocktails in the garden, delicious fooderies, and bubbling hot tubs under canopies in the forest.

Wherever the weekend takes you, do it Body&Soul style.
