Cause for Fashion to make Kilisha’s dreams come true

A fashion show and spring style event, Cause for Fashion, will take place on Thursday March 29 in the Sheraton Hotel Athlone in aid of Share a Dream Foundation and St Hilda’s Hospice.

The evening will be hosted by celebrity hairdresser and TV presenter James Brown, and there will be a celebrity appearance by Jamie Laing from the hit TV show Made in Chelsea. Fashion and beauty journalist Triona McCarthy will also be on hand to give beauty tips.

Spring fashion will be showcased from local boutiques and high street shops styled by the Holman Lee Agency, and MC on the night will be DJ Johnny Hammond.

The night will begin with a Champagne and canapés reception at 7.30pm which will be followed by the fashion show. Clothes will be supplied from Athlone Towncentre, Born Clothing, Burgess, Dress boutique, Fiona Mangan, Graces, Kadee, McGorisks for Men, Nells Closet, River Island, Sherbet, SWAMP, and Oxendales.

There will be a selection of premium stalls on the night, including displays from A Room in Bloom Floral Designs, Bella Makeover, Karma Night Club, Colorstarz Hairdressing, The Motte and Bailey Restaurant, and Fiona Mangan.

The models’ hair and make-up will be done by Colorstarz Hairdressing and Geraldine’s Health & Beauty Clinic.

The fashion show aims to make a special dream come true for a little girl named Kilisha with thanks to the Sheraton Athlone Hotel, Geraldine’s Health & Beauty Clinic, Sherbet, and ColorStarz Hairdressers.

Kilisha is a nine-year-old girl from Edenderry, Co Offaly, who is into music, dancing and hip hop, and fashion. However, two years ago her whole life was turned upside when she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour on March 9, her seventh birthday. Despite having major surgery at Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Kilisha still has a long hard road ahead of her and is attending hospital for more treatments.

Share a Dream makes dreams a reality for children like Kilisha. So, on Thursday March 29 with the support of Jennifer McGuire, Traci Brennan, the Sheraton Hotel, and local businesses, Kilisha’s dream will come true. Kilisha and her family will travel to Athlone by special Garda escort and stay in the Sheraton Hotel. Kilisha will then be spoilt for the day – getting her hair, nails, and make-up done. She will be fitted for a dress and shoes, dine in a fancy restaurant, travel in a Rolls Royce, and the finale will be that evening when she struts her stuff on the catwalk in the Sheraton Athlone Hotel at Cause for Fashion, modelling her outfit.

Tickets are €20 in advance or €25 on the door on the night. This includes a complimentary glass of Champagne and canapés on arrival, a goodie bag, as well as entry into Karma Night Club for the after-party! The night will end with a raffle.

Tickets are available from the Sheraton Hotel or Athlone Towncentre information desk.

Cause For Fashion is proudly sponsored by Athlone Towncentre, Athlone Veterinary Hospital, Colorstarz Hairdressing, Flancare, James Brown London, Jim Derwin Equestrian, Karma Athlone, Michael Moore Car Sales (Audi Athlone ), and Sheraton Hotel Athlone.
