The first disappearing chocolate box goes on sale at M&S

Marks & Spencer has launched the first compostable pack for chocolates. Perfect for chocoholics who want to enjoy guilt-free chocolates, M&S’s entire Swiss chocolate range will now feature a Plantic tray for the chocolates to sit in, with the outer box made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC ) certified cardboard - both of which are made from natural materials that can be put on the garden compost heap.

Plantic is a revolutionary material made from corn starch that is totally compostable. When Plantic becomes moist it breaks down so is ideal for home-composting – and for those who want to hide all the evidence of their chocolate eating! The tray can also be put under water in which it will dissolve in a matter of minutes.

Available at M&S Athlone and Mullingar.
