Midlands businesses networking hailed a success

Businesses from all over Westmeath and Offaly came together last Monday in the Tullamore Court Hotel to participate in the third annual Business-to-Business Speed Networking event.

A joint venture between Westmeath and Offaly Enterprise Boards, Athlone, Tullamore and District, Mullingar, and the Midlands Gateway Chambers, the event attracted businesses from right across the Midlands and further afield.

With an attendance of over 70 business owners/managers who came from business sectors such as IT, financial, marketing and design, and leisure, the feedback from the participants was very positive with some very good business leads being made. This high turnout demonstrates the importance businesses now place on networking as part of their marketing strategy, in light of the current economic environment.

Some comments from participants included, “A really good event, looking forward to next year”. “The time flew by” , and “well thought out and organised”.

For more information on how networking can help your business, please contact your local Enterprise Board or Chamber of Commerce. Details are available on www.enterpriseboards.ie and www.chambers.ie Both the Enterprise Boards and Chambers run regular networking events at little or no cost, so it’s recommended to get in touch with them.

Westmeath County Enterprise Board have a further Women in Business Networking event coming up on October 6 entitled Getting Your Business Ready for Recovery; further information on www.westmeath-enterprise.ie
