Golfing for autism in Ballinamere and Ferbane

The seventh annual Golfing for Autism will take place on Friday July 23 in Esker Hills Golf Club, Ballinamere, Co Offaly.

This annual event is one of the highlights of the golfing calendar with people travelling from all over the country to support the classic.

Teams from the sporting world will be attempting success: Cork hurling star Cathal Naughton; Galway hurling star Joe Cunning; and Galway football stars Michael Donlon, Sean Og de Paor, Sean Armstrong, and Joe Bergin. Westmeath’s Dessie Dolan will also be putting for charity as will Roscommon’s Seamus Hayden; and Offaly’s Paddy Dunne, Seamus Darby, Vincent Claffey, Sean Lowry, Brendan Lowry, Michael Lowry, and Finbar Cullen. A few famous faces from the entertainment world will also be in attendance with RTE’s Brian Ormond, musician Mick Denver, and The Conquerors showband.

The proceeds of this year’s event will go to the Ballinamere autism unit and the new Gallen Community School autism unit, which is opening in September.
