Lighting up Ireland’s music scene

When four lads from Moate - guitarist Steve Devaney, drummer William Burgoyne, vocalist Stephen Martin, and bassist/ vocalist Dave Healy - merged their individual talents, nobody expected the outcome to be quite this spectacular. The LOLS are causing quite a stir on the Irish music scene, hijacking audiences with their infectious riffs and catchy upbeat vibe.

The recent launch of their debut single, ‘I’ll take my time’ with its reggae/ pop feel, saw the band release their energy to a packed Club S, fueling anticipation of their impending stardom. Steve Devaney explains that the song was written after he returned home from spending some time in New York.

Hailing Stevie Wonder, The Killers, The Artic Monkeys, and various forms of trad music as their influences, the LOLS have found the perfect meeting of sounds, leaving the listener to wonder if they can, or even want to define what they hear.

One of the most sought after party bands in Ireland at the moment, the four agree that they have their sights set high, always aiming for bigger and better. This is evident in their sheer dedication to their music. The LOLS put their hearts and souls into each and every lyric and even then, they will still seek to further perfect.

Catch these guys while you have the chance, as you will no doubt one day find yourself subconsciously humming one of their tunes in the shower.

See this weekend’s Sunday World newspaper for more info on the guys. To book the LOLS for your event contact Liam Claffey at (087 ) 2499800. Visit www.bebo.com/thelolsireland1, www.thelolsireland.com, or email [email protected].
