The Irish Stammering Association's recently-formed Midlands’ self help group met again earlier this month.
The group provides opportunities for people who stutter to discuss issues around their stammering, as well as providing mutual support. Many people who have attended the groups have found them to be quite useful in feeling more comfortable with their stammering.
One member said "It’s very helpful to meet up with other people who stammer and to exchange experiences and feelings. It’s important to know that there are other people who have felt the same way."
The Midlands group next meets on Thursday August 6 at 8pm at The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore and all adult stammerers are welcome.
There is no admission charge, and booking is not necessary.
