Naughten opposes cut in Monksland bus service

Cllr John Naughten has this week sought a meeting with Bus Eireann to outline his objection to a reduction in the Bus Eireann service in Monksland.

“Over the last number of weeks during my canvass of the Monksland area a large number of residents, particularly young mothers and elderly people, raised concerns in relation to the proposed reduction in the frequency of the local bus service,” explained Cllr Naughten.

“I have now written to the Bus Eireann area manager seeking an urgent meeting with him and Deputy Denis Naughten. At that meeting I hope to outline the concerns of the local residents seeking not only to have the current level of service maintained but also to have the service extended to the residential area of Bealnamullia as far as Cloonakilla National School.”
