A definite stand-out occasion on the social calendar, the Athlone Chamber of Commerce Business Awards made a welcome ‘in person’ return to the Radisson Blu Hotel Athlone on Saturday night.

Following a pandemic enforced hiatus, the gala occasion was extremely well attended with representatives from local and regional companies uniting to recognise the best in what Athlone has to offer from a business perspective.

In total, 16 awards were presented as numerous companies and individuals received due recognition for their notable achievements within the industry.

Speaking to the Athlone Advertiser this week, Athlone Chamber of Commerce CEO, Mr Gerry McInerney, noted that the gala occasion reflected both the strength and unity of Athlone in recognising and celebrating talent across various business industry sectors.

“We at Athlone Chamber are delighted that people could come together and celebrate Athlones thriving business community once again. I would like to personally congratulate all of the winners in our 15 categories as well as Ted Carty, our worthy lifetime achievement recipient.

“With over 320 attendees, this event showed both the strength and unity of our town in recognising and celebrating talent across various sectors. I would also like to thank the Radisson Blu Hotel Athlone for its spectacular hospitality to all of the staff and volunteers who helped make this event a success,” Mr McInerney asserted.
