Castledaly GAA concluded their successful ‘Around The World’ initiative this past weekend, the South Westmeath community uniting to raise much needed funds towards ongoing developments within the club.

With past and present players joining in from Abu Dhabi, California, New York, Canada, Uganda, to name but a few, a series of groups relayed various legs from Cusack Park in Mullingar to Castledaly.

They were cheered along the way by well wishers and the final road runners arrived at St Kieran’s Park greeted by rapturous applause and a guard of honour from supporters. The underage super stars then completed the event with a series of solo runs around the track to great cheers and applause.

Videos and photographs of the day’s events, both home and abroad, feature on the club’s social media pages with a link attached to allow further donations.

The afternoon was completed with a lovely BBQ, sponsored by Shane Maher Butchers. Entertainment followed in P. Egans Moate with belated presentations of winners medals and Alan Stone presented with a very well deserved ‘Player of The Year’ award for 2022.

Chairman, Tom Stone, congratulated all the nights winners and everyone for another brilliant year of progress before he thanked one and all for their support and generosity throughout the year.
