Willow Park senior teams continued their respective pre-season campaigns with competitive outings in recent times.

The club’s Leinster Senior League hosted Tullamore FC at DPD Park on Saturday evening. The fixture proved to be a good run out for the side who are building ahead of the planned league kick off of August 19-21.

Meanwhile, the CCFL team enjoyed a 3-2 victory over Temple Villa in another friendly. This was a highly entertaining game that kept the interest right up until the end with Villa getting a late goal to cut the deficit. Villa took the lead when they cut right through the Willow defence but the equaliser came via a deflected effort from Glen Byrne which curled into the net after good work by Brian Fogarty. Willow then scored twice early in the second period when Owen Raleigh and James Fortune both got great goals. Villa then grabbed a late goal to keep it honest but Willow can be happy with their performance over the duration.
