Mossie Reilly, Paddy Shryane, Owen O Connor, and Paddy Mons are part of an incredible crew who are going to sail around Ireland onboard Lynx with Wild West Sailing, their cohesive endeavours raising much needed funds for the Lecarrow Benevolent Fund.

The quartet are raising funds for the Lecarrow Benevolent Fund, which was devised when a small group of community-minded individuals came together in 2001 to assist groups and individuals in difficulty.

Since then, it has raised and distributed over €400,000 for worthy causes. While a significant portion of the funds raised are distributed throughout the parish, Lecarrow Benevolent Fund has also reached out to a wider area, including the local parishes of Monksland, Dysart, Brideswell and Curraghboy.

The Fund has also paved the way for the purchase of life-saving equipment, including the installation and maintenance costs of defibrillators throughout the area. The Fund was established with a view to assist those who may find themselves in a difficult financial position through no fault of their own or in other cases where people are facing significant costs in relation to medical treatment.
