On Saturday last Athlone GAA were thrilled to hand over the keys of a brand new Nissan Juke Enigma to Lakshika Serashine from Galway, the winner of the club’s recently hosted mega draw.

Athlone GAA representatives, Mary Connellan and Matt Scally and Andy Marsh from Marsh Nissan Athlone presented Lakshika with her stunning prize, the Nissan Juke Enigma valued at €30,000.

“When I got the call I thought it was a prank phone call. I didn’t remember buying a ticket. I had been talking about buying a new car for ages as my old car was on its last legs and one day my mother told me, ‘Lakshika, I can’t buy you a car, but I bought you a ticket for this car draw’.

“I never thought I’d win but I’m just thrilled and now I’ll have to give my mother lifts everywhere,” Lakshika enthused.

“Athlone GAA would like to thank everyone who bought a ticket for this draw. The funds raised will assist the club to deliver the best GAA experience for many within the community of Athlone town.

“We would also like to sincerely thank Andy and all his team at Marsh Nissan for their support. We were also delighted to make a substantial donation to the Irish Kidney Association as a result of the proceeds from our mega draw,” John Connellan remarked.
