Local Fianna Fáil Councillor, Frankie Keena, has praised the gardening initiative of College Park residents on the westside of Athlone.

“It was a total pleasure to have been invited to College Park last week and view the excellent gardening work which was carried out by a number of householders in the area.

“I would like to compliment Marie, Julie and Dave for taking the initiative to maintain and cut the grassed area in front of their homes and to have planted a beautiful range of flowers all along its borders.

“The pride displayed by them when I called down to their homes to view their work was just great and they informed me that they also have further plans to sow some roses along the wall.

“I would sincerely like to thank them for displaying this great community spirit by coming together to do this work and indeed all other communities throughout the town for maintaining their areas,” Cllr Keena enthused.
