Athlone Castle’s virtual Easter extravaganza competitions

Athlone Castle will host a number of Easter competitions for children running in tandem with two free online events that premiered during the bank holiday weekend.

Rosemarie Langtry’s tutorial on how to design and make an Easter tree and Eoghan Burke aka Fia Rua storytelling spectacular are complemented by competitions encouraging children to submit photos of their works to win a prize.

The competition centred on Eoghan’s storytelling is art based. Children are asked to submit an illustration or drawing based on the story that Eoghan has created.

Following Rosemarie’s crafts tutorial, participants are requested to share a photograph of their finished Easter tree to ensure competition inclusion. The closing date for both competitions is Tuesday, April 13.

The winners of each competition will be announced on Thursday, April 15, and will receive a prize. Their masterpieces will also be featured on the Athlone Castle website and social media channels and in press releases issued to local media for everyone to admire.

Children from Athlone, and neighbouring Midlands counties are invited to participate in the arts and crafts competitions.
