Colaiste Chiarain prepares to unveil refurbished and enhanced school premises

Tomorrow (Friday ) marks a significant milestone in the brief history of Coláiste Chiaráin with the formal handover of the refurbished and enhanced new school premises prior to the co-ed education establishment reopening for the forthcoming academic year.

The secondary school, created in 2017 from the amalgamation of St. Joseph’s College and St. Aloysius College, is under the guidance of Principal, Brendan Waldron, will now be in a position to cater for 1,000 students following the refurbishment completion by contractor JJ Rhatigan, a project which commenced in March 2019.

The new school will have 37 classrooms and will include a large gymnasium with fitness suite, six hard play courts and numerous pitches, six science laboratories, specialist rooms for Art, Home Economics, Construction Studies, DCG, Music, Engineering and Technology.

The ultra-modern design will also include a multi-media room, library and canteen while a special educational needs ASD Unit is also incorporated into the building project.
