Athlone Springs receives worthy Best Family Hotel recognition

At the recent Midlands Hospitality Awards Ceremony, the Athlone Springs Hotel were thrilled to take home the accolade of ‘Best Family Hotel’. The So Hotel Group were well represented at the hospitality awards ceremony, alongside their sister property The Killeshin Hotel in Portlaoise, who also took home silverware with their General Manager, Michael Murphy, being the judges’ choice of ‘Rising Star’.

Reflecting on the award, General Manager, Lukas Kodl of the Athlone Springs Hotel commented, “we are over the moon to have been recognised as the ‘Best Family Hotel’ in the Midlands, it is brilliant to see our hard work being recognised as we pride ourselves on team work and it is a testament to the to the positive changes taking place.”

Athlone Springs Hotel was purchased by Mr. Pat McDonagh and his family at the end of July 2018 and is now part of the So Hotel Group. Since the purchase, a massive investment has taken place from the refurbishment of their bar, the addition of their new conference centre, the refurbishment of their gym and an brand new studio room to go along with it.
