Westmeath launch their bid for a place at hurling’s top table this Saturday when they welcome Offaly to Mullingar in Round 2 of the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Jack Cooney’s men received a bye in the first round with Saturday’s visitors, opening their campaign with a four point loss to Laois in a thrilling encounter in Tullamore.

The Lakeland county will be looking to build on an excellent 2019 which has seen them lift the Keogh Cup in January as well as winning all six league matches, resulting in promotion back to the top division after 33 years.
