Boost to local economy as BNLI Luan Chapter raises key funds

A sum totalling €500,000 has been generated by intuitive local business personnel in Athlone as a result of a wealth of effective and cohesive business networking. The Luan BNI group which was launched in February 2018 and meets locally every Thursday morning in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel comprises 27 business people who work together with the aim of building and enhancing the local economy.

The Luan BNI group supports 150 jobs locally with this figure certain to grow in the coming months as new businesses join the enterprise initiative.

The Luan chapter has a wide variety of local business people including an accountant, a joiner, a travel agent, a web designer, an electrician, a commercial builder and many more. The diversity of the businesses involved is what has helped with the chapter’s success.

Speaking of the group’s achievement Diarmuid O Leochain, Chapter President remarked, “our members are no different to any other business person, we worry about where to find new business, but in a group like this it is like having over 25 sales people on the road looking for business for you and we all work together which is what it is all about. Our group is not just about getting new business in, we are also there to support each other in the difficulties we face and you cannot put a high enough value on such support.”

Also speaking of the success of the Luan Chapter, Mr. Tim Oates, Executive Director of BNI Ireland West and Midwest commented, “each member has worked extremely hard to reach such a milestone and I hope they will continue to do so long in to the future. BNI welcomes all business people to come to a meeting as a guest. If you would like to grow your business you can visit www.bniirelandmidwest.ie to find out how.”
