Environmental visual artist Helen Caird is staging a solo show at the Oughterard Courthouse from Friday, February 9, to Sunday, February 18.
Rich with gold, Caird’s work consists of drawing and collage, playfully exploring interconnections within the natural world. She equates the use of gold in her work with the beauty and preciousness of nature.
The Fine Arts graduate of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology is currently a board member of Artspace Studios.
Since 2014, Caird has been involved with the Terryland Forest Park Alliance in Galway city. Her illustrations of local flora and fauna are depicted on information boards located throughout the park.
Guest speaker at the opening night will be Brendan Smith of Terryland Forest Park.
