Ireland’s final property auction of 2014 to be held by DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard

In a response to the demand by investors to purchase investment properties before year end, DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard is working late into the Christmas season and will host its final auctions of the year on December 18. “Traditionally our November auction would be the last one of the year and we would wind down after that, but this year with the capital gains tax incentives, we see an increase in demand from both vendors and buyers so we are responding to this by holding what will be the final property auction of 2014 in the country on December 18,” said Fergal Leonard. With a recent surge in investor activity in the market place, the December auctions are likely to attract similar interest to the November auctions, with well-priced properties proving ever-popular.

Race is on between tourism investment and survival of retail and hospitality sectors

Dividends anticipated from ongoing intense investment by our government in attracting further tourism business to Ireland, may serve little purpose if there is nothing to keep people here when they come. While beautiful scenery and glorious outdoors have much to offer in their own right, without open doors in shops, pubs, restaurants and hotels to welcome those weary and seeking comfort following excursions, the allure of holidaying in Ireland may soon be lost.

Shoppers in Galway cannot have any complaints about the range of gifts that will be available to them this year and will have no need to leave the city or county in order to make sure their stockings are well filled this Christmas. With the Christmas market starting in Eyre Square this week and the wide range of shops in the city streets and county towns, there is plenty of food for thought as we plan our Christmas gift guide.
