The Irish Cancer Society has published a report on its National Counselling Grants Programme which reveals that 45 per cent of Mayo cancer patients who availed of the service in Mayo Cancer Support Association sought counselling less than one year after a cancer diagnosis. Record numbers of cancer survivors attended the recent Irish Cancer Society National Conference for Cancer Survivorship. The two-day event which took place in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, was the largest event of its kind by the society, and was kindly supported by Roche.

I thought it impossible to see anything more bizarre than having to overtake an NYPD car on my way to MacHale Park last Sunday but just before the start of the Ballintubber/Knockmore county quarter final something else surpassed that.
