An internationally renowned English surgeon will deliver the memorial lecture at Ireland’s largest surgical conference to be hosted by NUI Galway from September 2 to 3.

The west of Ireland Cardiac Surgical Centre at University Hospital Galway is pushing the boundaries of clinical information technology, thanks to support from local heart charity Croí which this week presented state-of-the-art portable technology to the medical staff in the unit.

Mr Fabio Bartolozzi, a Galway based hospital consultant - who is the only surgeon in Ireland to perform a cardiothoracic surgery procedure using the da Vinci robotic system - will be in the audience at the Late Late Show on Friday night to discuss it.
