Mayo Cancer Support Association provides emotional support and practical help for people living with cancer, their families and friends. Now in its 10th year the demand for the services is increasing and the range of services on offer is developing to meet the needs of people whose lives have been affected by cancer. The drop in centre offers a professional counselling service, a drop in listening service information, aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, and relaxation techniques. All services are free of charge and are also available to family members or friends.

Approval has been given to Mayo General Hospital for a new permanently-based MRI scanner and a replacement CT scanner. The money for MRI and CT scanners has been raised through the generosity of the people of Mayo.
