Mayo towns to benefit from ESB and Vodafone link up

The towns of Ballina, Castlebar, and Westport, are to benefit from a joint venture agreed this week by Vodafone and the ESB. The venture will see the companies invest €450 million in 50 towns, including the three in Mayo, in building a 100 per cent fibre-to-the-building, broadband network offering speeds from 200 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, propelling Ireland into the ranks of the world’s fastest broadband countries.

Claremorris project wins Airspeed Telecom and Enet Project of the Year (SME) at 2014 Tech Excellence Awards

AirSpeed Telecom, the leading provider of integrated licensed wireless with fibre telecommunications services to businesses in Ireland, and Enet, Ireland’s open access network operator, won the Project of the Year (SME) category at the 2014 Tech Excellence Awards this week. The award was received in recognition of the establishment of Claremorris in Mayo as Ireland’s first fibre town.
