The Answer have just confirmed an intimate show at Castlebar’s new independent music venue, The Clubhouse, this summer on Saturday, August 25. The Answer were formed in 2000 by guitarist Paul Mahon, whose father was a jazz trumpeter and member of seminal Irish showband The Freshmen who released three albums on CBS and toured with the likes of the Beach Boys. Aged 18, Mahon knew he wanted to put together a rock band and mentioned it to bassist Micky Waters, an old school friend who had been in numerous cover bands around Belfast.

The Aftermath are an Irish mod/pop rock band, currently based in Mullingar. Leading the line up are brothers Johnny (guitar, keys, vocals) and Michael Cronin (drums, percussion, samples, vocals), who are originally from Longford but raised in Leeds. The rest of the band is made up of Mullingar guitarist Justin McNabb and bassist Martin Gray. The Aftermath released their debut album Friendlier Up Here in 2008.
