Kilkenny Kats Special Olympics Club held a successful fundraising launch this week in St Francis Abbey Cellar.

Interesting battles are expected in all divisions at the County Badminton Leagues finals on Saturday (5pm) in the Galway Lawn Tennis Club.

The day began for St Gerald’s with the team of Kevin Keena, Mark Jennings, Alan Flynn, Niall Fahey, and sub Cathal Lavelle, playing St Peter’s College Wexford and winning 4-2.

Local national badminton champion John Rooney returns to the city this weekend to contest the West of Ireland Squash Open.

Galway badminton players achieved a double for the Galway Lawn Tennis Club, taking both mens and ladies’ division one titles at the recent county championships.
