The first documented reference to the Galway Fishery is found in the Pipe Rolls, a collection of financial records maintained by the British Treasury. Last Sunday President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina led the distinguished guests of St Patrick's Brass Band at the memorial concert for the band's late president and long serving member Tom Feeney. Mr Feeney, a native of Bohermore who passed away in December of last year, was deeply involved with the band and played a key role in the band's revival in the 1960s.
