THERE ARE still a couple of days left to catch the wonderful work gathered for the inaugural Galway Cartoon Festival which now runs until Thursday November 9, having initially being scheduled to finish last Monday.

A NEW entry into the city’s crowded calendar of festivals is the Galway Cartoon Festival, which arrives next week and runs from October 21 to 30, with the aim of celebrating and showcasing drawings which make us laugh and make us think.

THE WORLD premieres of a new play by Conall Morrison and a new opera by Donnacha Dennehy and Enda Walsh; a major exhibition by Brazilian artist Ana Maria Pacheco; new theatre productions from Druid; Beach Boys’ legend Brian Wilson at the Big Top; and Syrian architect and author Marwa Al-Sabouni, are just some of the highlights of the 40th Galway International Arts Festival.
