An exciting new afternoon tea has just launched at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Galway, served in the recently-opened Coopers Bar & Lounge overlooking Lough Atalia.

Hotel Meyrick, long recognised as the home of the perfect afternoon tea in Galway city, has introduced a new traditional afternoon tea menu for autumn.

Tucked away just two miles from Galway city is the five-star Glenlo Abbey Hotel, in vast acres of rich, lush, scenery on the banks of Lough Corrib. The abbey is the ancestral home to one of Galway’s famous tribes, the Ffrench family. The graceful, gothic, two-storey house was built in 1740, with the abbey itself being constructed in the 1790s as a private church for the family. In the 1980s, the house and estate were bought, restored, and converted, transforming it into a unique hotel.

With majestic views over Lough Corrib and dating back to the 18th century, the five star Glenlo Abbey Hotel is where old world charm meets contemporary elegance.

To celebrate the start of summer and all the colourful flowers bursting into bloom, the g Hotel & Spa in Galway has launched its 2017 floral afternoon tea. Served daily from 12 noon to 6pm, afternoon tea at the g will infuse your day with colour and energy.

"TEA IN the morning/tea in the evening/tea at suppertime..." sang Ray Davies in The Kink's 'Have A Cuppa Tea', and music will form one element in a new theatre piece for the Galway Theatre Festival, which looks at the the history and culture of tea.

Hotel Meyrick are delighted to partner with CÚRAM, the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research in Medical Devices based at NUI Galway, for a Children’s Workshop on ‘Molecular Gastronomy’ and Afternoon Tea on Thursday April 13.
