The theme for the parade in Westport is Travel Smart – The Westport Way. The parade will commence at 3.30pm and the Grand Marshall will be the legendary Irish cyclist Sean Kelly.

St Patrick’s Day in Galway will not be a one day celebration of all things Irish, it will be a five-day celebration of music, art, theatre carnival and all that is great about Galway.

St Patrick’s Day is not so much a day anymore as a festival celebrated over a series of days and Oranmore is no exception, as the town is set to make the national day into a week long festival.

All participants are encourged to be as creative and imaginative as possible in designing and constructing their floats/entries. Don’t forget the theme for this year’s parade is The Environment.

Galway’s St Patrick’s Day Parade takes place on Wednesday March 17, starting at 12.30pm. However the parade will be the finale of a whole series of events as the St Patrick’s festivities are extended to five days this year.

Kilkenny’s St Patrick’s Day Parade theme has been decided and the committee responsible for this year’s event have revealed that the theme this year is ‘Earth Parade’.

The annual Belmullet St Patrick's Day parade will take place on Tuesday March 17 commencing from the sports complex and follow the usual route.

The Batafada Samba School for all aged 10 and over will meet every Monday from 8pm to 9.30pm in the community centre. Registration will take place on Monday October 12.

The White Lantern Carnival Parade, to mark the arrival of Christmas and the winter solstice, takes place in Shop Street on Saturday December 19 at 7pm.
