A group of influential journalists from Germany enjoyed a visit to Co Westmeath last week, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Aer Lingus.

This week, business professionals and entrepreneurs from across Westmeath attended an event focused on international and cross-border training, providing knowledge and guidance on new opportunities for businesses who have reached full growth in their existing market.

The Start Up Live roadshow came to Athlone this week. Held in the Olive Grove Restaurant, the evening brought together 100 local business people who debated at length the challenges facing their business from selling to hiring great staff to competing for finance. The free event was held by Ulster Bank, in association with smallbusinesscan.com, to help people who have recently set up or are considering starting up their own business.
