The 8k race was over a newly measured one lap course starting at Claremorris track, and replaced the five mile route which was used previously and started in the town centre.
DeCare’s 15th Annual Sport a Smile Fun Run/ Walk is taking place in Claremorris on Sunday, August 28 at 11am. Normally a five mile race from the centre of the town, this year’s race will be a chip timed 8k race on Sunday morning, starting from near the athletic track on the Balla Road and finishing with one lap of the track. The new 8km route will be a good challenge for runners and walkers alike and it is also part of the Mayo AC 2016 Vodafone C&C cellular club league.
