Musician Sharon Shannon is calling on dog lovers young and old to put their paws on the Salthill prom in aid of this year’s MADRA Dogathon.

A dog may be man’s best friend but the charity MADRA (Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption) is often a dog’s best friend here in the west of Ireland. Throughout the year MADRA finds new homes for hundreds of unwanted, neglected, abused, and abandoned dogs.

MADRA currently has more than 100 dogs looking for new homes due to the continued growth in the number of stray and surrender dogs coming into its care.

One of the highlights of the MADRA calendar, the annual MADRA Dogathon, will take place this Sunday May 14 at 1pm.
