The Cats completed a clean sweep of Leinster hurling titles when the intermediate hurling team defeated Wexford in a tense but exciting final played in Nowlan Park on Sunday last.

The Kilkenny under-21 side made it a clean sweep of qualifiers for All Ireland hurling finals for the county for the second year in succession when they disposed of Antrim in Saturday’s semi-final played in Páirc Tailteann, Navan.

With the Liam McCarthy once again safe in the bag for another year, the attentions turned to the All-Ireland u-21 and camogie finals last Sunday. It must be said that a small Kilkenny contingent made the trip up the N9 and N78 to Croker to cheer on the Cats in their quest for honours.
