Athlone Photography Club will host a 2022/23 programme open invitation night at the Abbey Road Artists Studio on Abbey Road (in close proximity to the Radisson Blu Hotel Athlone) to which photographers of all levels are invited.

The countdown is on for entries into the ‘How We Age’ all-island photography competition, launched by the Institute of Public Health (IPH) in April.

Founded in 2013 by relevant enthusiasts, Athlone Photography Club will commence a new season of learning on Tuesday, September 2, at 7.30pm.

The present club was established in 1975 at a meeting in Giblin’s Hotel, now part of TKMaxx department store on Prospect Hill. It was however preceded by a similar club founded in the late 1950s which survived until the late 1960s.

Athlone Photography Club was celebrating this week after claiming the highly coveted Irish Photographic Federation (IPF) National Shield at an awards ceremony held in Malahide, Dublin.
