O’Donnellan & Joyce recorded a hugely successful property auction when the company placed 19 properties under the auction hammer, selling a total of €2.9 million on the day.

O’Donnellan & Joyce is set to begin another busy year of successful auctions. The company’s first auction of the year takes place tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm in the Harbour Hotel, Galway, where a wide range of properties will be going under the hammer, from investment opportunities to stunning family homes.

Last Saturday, St Valentine’s Day, coincided with the traditional start of the selling season, with O’Donnellan & Joyce launching its open viewing campaign for houses currently on offer by either auction or private treaty.

The massive success of O’Donnellan & Joyce’s 2014 auctions seem to have left no doubt in the minds of most vendors that, if you want to sell your property in a reasonably short length of time, the auction route is the way to go.

O’Donnellan & Joyce reports for 2011 that the property market had a huge up-turn in terms of sales, however prices continue to drop.

O’Donnellan & Joyce held the biggest property auction in the west so far this year when seven properties went up for sale last Friday in a packed auction room with standing room only. There was tremendous interest in all of the properties with five of the properties selling in less than one hour and the remaining two under active negotiation.

After six weeks of auction progression O’Donnellan & Joyce anticipates a large crowd at the Victoria Hotel tomorrow for the first of its spring auctions. “Over the past number of weeks we have had open viewing twice a week on all eight properties and facilitated private viewings also,” said Colm O’Donnellan of O’Donnellan & Joyce. “Open viewings were busy for the duration of the process and there were many requests from clients interested in putting offers on some properties. As a result of this 11 The Green was sold prior to auction, contracts have been signed, and its owners are very happy that a very good price was achieved.”

For years O’Donnellan & Joyce has been holding its auctions in the Victoria Hotel just off Eyre Square. At the last auction, which was held on February 25, the auction room was filled to capacity, creating a wonderful atmosphere which was then further fuelled by the wonderful auction and the results achieved.
