There are no Covid-19 patients currently in any of the West of Ireland's public hospitals. Despite mounting nationwide concern about the prevalence of the highly transmissable Delta variant of the infection, which accounted for 20 per cent of last week's national case numbers, the Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon hospitals did not have any Covid patients at the time of going to press.
