Katie Kim comes to the Linenhall as part of the Certain Three Tour

Now in its third year, the Certain Three Tour comes to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar next Thursday night, January 12 which will include Katie Kim, The Lost Brothers and Puzzle Muteson. The creation of Irish based booking agency Word of Mouth, the idea is to feature three acts each with something different to offer and send them out as a triple bill with an alternating running order. I was very impressed at the dignity and solemnity at the funeral of Otto von Hapsburg who died aged 94 years on July 4. Twelve days later he was entombed in the Imperial crypt of St Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna, with some pomp and ceremony; but his actual ‘ Three Knock’ burial was simplicity itself.

On June 12 1922 a very special ceremony took place at Windsor Castle, near London. Following the establishment of the Irish Free State the previous December, five Irish regiments, including the Connaught Rangers, the Royal Irish, the Leinsters, the Munsters, and the Dublin Fusiliers, which had served the British army with exceptional valour at times, were disbanded. It was a day of special significance for both the participants and onlookers. It was reported in the London Times.
