Grid West information centre opens in Castlebar

A new Grid West information centre has opened on Linenhall Street in Castlebar following the launch of the first phase of public consultation for the €240 million EirGrid project by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD last week. The centre will be open every Monday and Tuesday, 9am to 5pm.

More than 250 students travelled to the Linenhall Theatre, Castlebar, last week to attend EirGrid’s inaugural schools’ science programme Understanding Electricity - From Power Station to PlayStation. The show, which was held during Engineers Week, is based on the Junior Certificate science curriculum, with particular emphasis placed on practical experience and audience participation.
