Fine Gael TD for Mayo, Michelle Mulherin, has urged Irish women between 25 and 60 years of age to avail of a free smear test from a registered GP or women's health or family planning clinic of their choice. Deputy Mulherin’s comments come at the start of European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week. Awareness events are taking place nationwide.

In support of European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week (January 24-30), CervicalCheck – The National Cervical Screening Programme is encouraging every woman aged 25 to 60 who receives a CervicalCheck invitation to accept it and go for her free smear test.
