Fifteen Galway community groups receive €91,000 funding from IPB Insurance

Irish mutual insurer, IPB Insurance, has recently announced that 15 Galway-based community groups are among the recipients of their Youth and Community Fund.

Four Mayo groups get funding boost

Four Mayo community groups have been awarded funding totalling €19,000 under IPB Insurance’s Youth and Community Fund.

EBS Community Fund

EBS today reminded Mayo people to nominate their local cause to be in with the chance to win €10,000 from the EBS Community Fund. EBS is looking for people to nominate their favourite community group, club, or cause and in doing so bring the overall prize fund of €10,000 to their community. Nominations are open to all members of the public and can be made by calling into any EBS office or online at www.ebs.ie. Entries will be accepted until October 24.

Durcan calls on county manager to step down

Independent Castlebar based county councillor Frank Durcan this week called for county manager Peter Hynes to step down from his position. Cllr Durcan made his call at the April meeting of the council this week. Mr Hynes was giving a report on the Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO) investigation into the complaints made by Roger McGreal against Kieran Lynn, senior executive engineer with Mayo County Council.

Two causes in Westmeath named winners of EBS community fund

Temple Villa AFC and South Westmeath Employment Education and Training Services (SWEETS) Ltd, both from Westmeath, celebrated this week after they became the lucky recipients of €500 in funding from the EBS Community Fund. In addition to this one of the winners will be selected to go forward to represent their county and be in with a chance of receiving €10,000 in funding from EBS Building Society.
